End-to-end identity design
The idea behind the identity design for Akha was rooted in a desire to render the brand’s unique style and aesthetic in a balanced and fresh manner. Staying true to their South African heritage influenced the minimal and ancestral-inspired custom logotype. Led by a distinctive brand mark, derived from the logotype, the identity translates values surrounding South African culture and environmental importance; transforming the brand into a sophisticated and authentic design studio.

Portfolio web design
Setting a tone that would unify the identity with the website, guided initial portfolio concepts. Elegant typography was at the helm of the design process, informing a website that felt memorable and sophisticated in design. Simple page layouts and a focus on a grid-like structural system were the basis for a site that houses all of Akha’s functional furniture. The new site allowed Frances and James to re-establish themselves as a highly detail-oriented interior studio, boundless and full of fresh ideas.
